Knowing more about the moisture absorption properties of your products and process drying characteristics can:

Using a fluid bed principal the Sherwood Scientific's new DYNAMIC MOISTURE ANALYZER introduces a new method for determining the drying / moisture absorption properties of particulated substances. Key to the process are the microprocessor controlled blower speed, temperature control, moisture measurement, and the computer control system. Blower speed is kept constant by a microprocessor using a feedback loop to monitor electric flow through the motor. The time and temperature are also microprocessor controlled. Temperature, moisture, and air flow data are continuously sampled through the use of a computer and moisture curves are generated using the data collected. |

Charts can be generated showing %moisture to time; %moisture to temperature; or %moisture to rate of drying. These computer generated charts will show the internal and external moisture content of a given sample of product. The internal moisture content can be broken down into absorbed vs. adsorbed moisture. This is critical in determining the degree of decrepitation in silica gel as the ratio of adsorbed moisture to absorbed increases as decrepitation advances and the gel loses its effectiveness. |
